about

Based upon a poem by William Blake in his preface to Milton, Sir Hubert Parry turned And Did Those Feet in Ancient Time into the famous hymn, Jerusalem.

In 1973 Emerson, Lake and Palmer released their arrangement of the hymn, which was immediately banned by the then, highly conservative BBC.

On hearing a song titled Armageddon by Dave Westmoreland and Will Lawery, Martyn Howes had the idea of combining the two songs into one epic version, while at the same time throwing his own ideas into the cooking pot.

Jerusalem Armageddon is Materialeyes' instrumental nod to England's green and pleasant land.

Ladies of the Women's Institute, we salute you.
